Typing a complex Wi-Fi password is frustrating for guests. A printed QR code allows anyone to join your network by scanning it with their phone camera. However, sending your network name and password to an unknown server to generate that code introduces a security risk.

Generate a Wi-Fi code in five steps

Open the Wi-Fi QR Code Generator. The Wi-Fi option is selected.
Enter the exact network name (SSID) and password.
Choose the security option that matches the router, then select Generate QR code.
Test the preview and download the PNG or SVG file.

Changing a field clears the old preview. Generate the code again after each change. Your credentials are not uploaded to EverythingDeck.

Why privacy matters for network codes

Your Wi-Fi password controls access to your local network. A server-based generator receives the network details you enter. With local generation, the QR pattern is created in the browser instead.

Local generation uses JavaScript on your device to create the QR pattern. The password exists only in your browser memory and is discarded when you close the tab.

Test before you print

Before printing the code on high-quality paper or a permanent sign, scan the preview on your screen with your own phone.

Check the network name: The SSID must be exact, including capitalization and spacing.
Verify the password: A single incorrect character will prevent connection.
Select the right security: Choose WPA / WPA2 / WPA3, WEP, or No password to match the router. The generator does not currently include a hidden-network option.

Secure your network

If your current Wi-Fi password is short or predictable, consider updating it before creating a permanent QR code. The Password Generator can create a random value on your device. Store the new password safely and update every connected device.
