What conversion produces
This route accepts a HEIC or HEIF still image and exports a JPG. It does not convert the motion part of a Live Photo. The result may differ in color, detail, file size, and embedded metadata because the browser decodes and re-encodes the photo.
Check the result
Open the preview before downloading, especially for an HDR or wide-color photo. JPG does not support transparency. A high-quality JPG can also be larger than the HEIC original, so check the size instead of assuming conversion means compression.
If a photo will not open
HEIC files vary, and some variants may not decode in every browser. Try a different browser or export the photo as JPG from the device. Keep the original file until the converted copy opens correctly where you need it.
