How to Resize an Image to Exact Pixel Dimensions

“1200 by 630 pixels” is a dimension requirement, not a file-size limit. To meet it cleanly, the source image must have the same shape as the target. Otherwise you have to crop some of the picture or stretch it.

When the shapes already match

Open the Image Resizer, choose your picture, and leave Keep aspect ratio selected. Enter the required Width (px). The height changes with it. If the height now matches the requirement, download the image and inspect the displayed output dimensions.

For example, a 2400 by 1600 picture has a 3:2 ratio. Resizing it to 1200 pixels wide gives 1200 by 800, still 3:2. It cannot become 1200 by 630 without changing the composition.

When the shapes differ

Use the Image Cropper first. Set the crop area so it has the target ratio, keeping the subject inside the crop. Then use the Resize controls to set the final pixel width and height. A crop removes pixels at the edges; it does not squash the content.

You can turn off Keep aspect ratio and enter both dimensions directly, but that may stretch faces, circles, and text. Use that only when distortion is acceptable. Enlarging a small photo to a large target also cannot recreate missing detail.

The image tools accept JPG, PNG, WebP, and many HEIC files. Export is capped at 16 megapixels. Choose JPG or WebP for an ordinary photo, or PNG when transparency matters.
